Round Green Tomato is a concentrate of health. It has got refreshing, astringent, thirst-quenching and digestive properties. It is rich in nutritional elements: vitamin A, vitamin B1,vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K and vitamin PP. Moreover, this variety of tomato is rich in carotenoids, powerful antioxidants able to catch free radicals behaving like defenders for our cells. Tomatoes are really useful for those people who make a lot of sport because they are rich in potassium, beneficial for prevention of muscular cramps. On average, 100 gr of fresh tomatoes contain 93% of water, 3% of carbohydrates, 0,2% of lipids, 1% of proteins and 1,8% of fibres. The supply of energy is 100kJ (about 20 Kcal). It is important to underline that lipids and proteins are in the seeds, i.e. that part that generally is not used in human alimentation.
It is excellent in salads or cooked in oven. Its pulp is firm and its taste is slightly acid. High preservation both in the fridge and on the plant. The harvest starts as soon as the fruits’ colour changes from green to red.
